Alex started training martial arts in 1997 at the age of 17 under Master Faustino Piña in Manaus, Brazil. As a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with more than 18 years of experience, he is well qualified and accomplished. Alex has competed extensively throughout the world to improve his skills and expand his knowledge necessary for bringing leading edge expertise to his students. Alex’s teaching emphasizes developing discipline, confidence and preparing the individual to have success in their life. He is enthusiastic and motivated to step on the mat everyday to encourage others to try something they’ve never done before. These efforts are done through great patience and dedication. Alex’s demeanor inside and outside the academy is a gentle balance of inspiring energy and respect. He continually encourages others to have the ultimate attitude imaginable.
