His childhood hobbies included bicycling (went on (3) 500 mile bike trips around the state on his 10-speed Schwinn), animals & biology, aquariums, sporty cars & Boy Scouts (he attained the rank of Eagle Scout). He attended public high school at Wauwatosa East H.S. where he performed in several musical productions. He went on to complete his B.S. degree in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin(Madison, WI). He entered podiatric medical school at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, CA where he graduated in 1987 with a B..S. degree in Basic Medical Sciences and a Doctorate: Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree.
