There are a lot of unique places to eat in our area. At Scotties Hamburgers of Elkins, you'll find a restaurant that offers meals for any time of the day, and workers who know most of their customers by name.<br><br>Scottie's opened in Elkins in 1972, when a man from Nitro originally opened the restaurant in a double wide trailer on Randolph Avenue. Elizabeth Bowers, the restaurant's current owner, started working at Scottie's in 1979.<br><br>A new location was built four years ago, and after the previous owner considered retiring, Bowers decided to keep it going.<br><br>Scottie's is my passion. It always has been, so you know what, I can do this, I want to do this so I decided to buy it, said Bowers.<br><br>The restaurant is a family-run business. You'll see just about every one of Bowers' family members working.
