Battle Born Jiu Jitsu is an innovative gym unrestrained by conventional boundaries of typical grappling systems and dogmatic training approaches. Constantly evolving, we are always refining our approach and exposing students to leading edge concepts and training styles for a skill set which is widely considered the most critical for success in MMA (mixed martial arts), self-defense and street defense. Unlike Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Kickboxing or Boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu focuses on taking down and controlling an opponent while using throws, takedowns and submissions to dominate the attacker. Striking is an incorporated element as a last resort while dominating an opponent in a self-defense situation. As a sport, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is invigorating and suitable for practitioners of all ages and builds.
