Listing Information:

ABOUT Church Street Market is "New Mexico's Most Unique Shopping Experience" featuring over 20 unique and individual shops all nestled along our vintage indoor "Main Street". Stroll through wonderful gifts, art, furniture, textiles and more. Stop for coffee or tea and melt in your mouth cookies inside the "Market" while you browse and enjoy the friendly folks and unusual and unique products. The Story of the "Market" is one of vision, dedication, lots of labor and fun! The building the Market is located in was purchased for $1 back in 1977, cut in half and moved from Albuquerque to Edgewood. The building itself had previous "lives" as a mess hall at the base, then over at the old Albuquerque High School as the Industrial Arts building before the Williams family purchased it. The Williams family moved it to Edgewood and it became a large warehouse that was a distribution point for over 200 pet stores across the southwest. Over the years, around 35 employees were based in the warehouse working for Williams Pet and Feed. After many years and the arrival of the big box stores such as PetsMart, the family made the decision to close the warehouse. It sat empty for a few years, but the family kept it anticipating using it in the future. Clay and wife Diana started brainstorming about the possibilities for the building and agreed that a unique, never before in New Mexico, opportunity for entrepeneurs to rent small shops would be the next life the building would take on. Many late nights, creativity and hard work ensued which created what the "Market" is today. A thriving "Main Street of unique shops filled with treasures, gifts, art and most of all, GREAT PEOPLE! The Williams family continues to expand the "Market" and has added a second building and has more plans for the open space in front.
